A construction site is a kind of production. And just like in production, all processes have to run smoothly and smoothly, without interruptions or delays. That is why it is so important to have the right equipment at hand when you need it.

Hardly anyone disputes that size can make all the difference when it comes to cost-effective and fast delivery on site. Caterpillar has launched two new downsized models – the 320 GC excavator and D5 bulldozer. With a width of 2.5 meters, both models can be transported on a normal trailer and do not require a special permit. The efficiency of the machine increases manifold: The machines can be moved from one site to another with minimum downtime and at minimum cost to the customer. These two models are described in more detail.

Tracked excavator 320 GC in the 20-ton class: Fast and economical on-site deployment
Undoubtedly the main advantage of the new tracked excavator 320 GC in the 20-ton class is its transport width of -2.5 meters. As mentioned above, no special permits are needed to transport this compact construction machine from one construction site to the next – a normal trailer is sufficient. This makes transporting the machine comfortable and uncomplicated.

The second main priority is probably the comfort and safety of the operator. The mid-sized 320 GC is equipped with a new generation cab – the design is based on feedback from operators around the world. The result of Caterpillar’s design efforts is a cab with a new level of ergonomics and comfort. All controls are placed on the console on the right side. The excavator is equipped with a colour touch-screen display, and the screen has been increased to 8 inches. In addition, a new operator’s seat with more adjustments is installed in the cab. The controls for adjusting the operator’s seating are highlighted in colour.

Recall that the 320 GC is based on the 20-ton model 320 GC, and therefore has all the advantages inherent in its “big brother” – the regular excavator model Cat ® 320 GC. Namely, reduced fuel consumption, increased service intervals, as well as a number of unique in the Russian market technical solutions.

The new generation of Caterpillar excavators is distinguished by several truly unique features. For example, the machine has an adaptive mode of operation, which automatically adjusts power depending on load.

In winter, the machine warms up faster. This reduces the strain on the engine and lowers fuel consumption. Another feature of the new hydraulic system is the auto-heating function, which is activated if the oil temperature is below a preset value.

Depending on customer preference, the 320 GC can be equipped with various attachments, such as additional hydraulic circuits or other quick-release mechanisms to minimise downtime.

As with all new-generation excavators, the compact model features extended service intervals. For example, the interval between fuel filters is 1,000 engine hours and the interval between hydraulic oil changes is 6,000 engine hours. Needless to say, a machine that is in good working order and does not need replacing parts for a long time is much more efficient in daily operations. In addition, all the daily maintenance points are easily accessible from ground level.

Caterpillar’s Cat Product Link® system offers remote machine monitoring, remote diagnostics and machine adjustments, in some cases eliminating the need for on-site technicians.

In fact, the 320 GC is an ideal solution for customers who are looking for low operating costs per hour and ease of transport between jobsites. It’s ideal for most jobs on the construction site.

Never miss a thing.
